Each companion runs on its own clock, even while the tab is closed — about six minutes of real time is one of its days. Hunger, energy and joy all fade if ignored. Each kind also carries a fourth trait that behaves differently: goblins build up mischief that needs venting, ghosts fade if they never haunt anything, skeletons wear down from play and need polishing, and the clock-faced man simply winds down and must be wound. Let any core stat sit at zero too long and the companion is lost for good — but it's remembered below.
